New Head Football Coach Takes the Field
The Bears’ new head football coach is no other than Willow Springs’ very own Matt Perkins. Matt may be new at being the head football coach but is not new to the school. Matt gradutated at Willow Springs School. After college he joined the Willow Springs football staff, where he has been for six years.
Last year Matt was the junior varsity coach, but this year he made the big jump to head varsity coach. Matt does not only strive to aim high for himself, but he has large goals for the team as well.
“My goal for the team is to win Districts,”said Perkins. He plans to accomplish this goal by working harder on and off the field and getting better every week. He hopes to pull the team together and turn around from the losses in the past.
The future looks bright for Coach Perkins as he could not be happier with the players and the talent they possess. “I am very glad to be the coach of such fine men. I hope to grow to have a personal relationship with each one and see as they grow as better men and better football players,” said Perkins.
For some he will be known as Matt Perkins, but for many athletes he will be known as Coach. Good luck to Coach Perkins and the Bears as they reach their goals in districts!
