The Willow Springs Middle School Bears’ football team started up the second week of September lead by the new head coach, Gerald McGound.

Coach McGound is a retired and former coach from Mountain Grove. He coached and taught for an amazing thirty- two years.

“It was great to be back in the football mode again,” Coach McGound said.

 He wants his athletes to improve as a team and become better citizens in this world. The winning will come on its own time. Coach McGound’s main focus is on teamwork skills. This year, athletes will be running a few new plays. These new plays come from the high school coaching staff which is new to the team as well.

“I would like the boys to give one hundred percent of their effort one hundred percent of the time,” replied McGound.
