“Availability and Conveniece,” was Mr. Dunlap’s response to his new addition to the family.  About four months ago, Mr. Dunlap and his family bought Ziva, a drug dog in training.  He has been taking her to Mansfield on Wednesday nights to be trained, but he also works with her at home.  The school bored just voted and has agreed to pay $800 for Ziva’s training so that she can be used in the school.  She is a European breed, short haired Belgian Malinios.  Mr. Dunlap fell in love with this type of dog, because they are aggressive watch dogs and  still great with children.

Willow Springs  students saw Ziva in action  at the Drug Assembly on Wednesday, September 9.  Along with Ziva, there were two other fully trained drug dogs.  The dogs found drugs and showed how they can attack when threatened or told to do so.  These animals work very hard to protect the people they love and our school.  This year the Willow Springs High School will have a random drug  search at least once a year.  When  Ziva is trained, the school will be able to do more.  Mr. Dunlap stated, “The Willow Springs School district is committed to having a drug free school.”
