On Saturday Oct. 3, 2009, the Willow Springs Tennis Team traveled to Waynesville for the Waynesville Invitational Tennis Tournament.

“Great performance by Beth and Ali. They had to come back from a heartbreaking loss in the semis and played a tough Camdenton team for 3rd. I was really proud of then, they picked up the pieces and finished off a great tournament. The competition here was great as always and it’s a good tune up for districts this week,” said Coach Marty Spence.

In the first round Alicen Rothermich and Bethany Carter defeated Stoutland 8-2. Beth and Ali defeated Richland 8-6 in the second round. They lost to Farmington 9-8; the tiebreaker was 7-4 in the semifinals. For third place , Ali and Beth defeated Camdenton 8-6.

Alicen Rothermich and Bethany Carter of Willow Springs took 3rd place in the Waynesville Tournament. The doubles bracket consisted of 18 doubles teams from Waynesville, Willow Springs, Farmington, Rolla, Lebanon, Camdenton, Stoutland, Richland, and Forsyth.
