In a small town like Willow Springs, there seems to be nothing to do on Friday nights except to attend the sporting events.  However, if you’re not the sporty type, this means you are probably bored out of your mind when the weekend rolls around.

No worries though, your weekend is just about to get a little better.  Instead of sitting at home by yourself or being bored with family and friends, you should try out the new opening of the Coffee House.

A place designed with relaxation as the main incentive, the Coffee House is sure to be entertaining.  Located in the Willow Springs High School Library, you can get to the Coffee House by using the library side door, the one that is usually locked. 

When you enter you will have the full effect of an actual coffee house, or as close to one as Coach Pitts can make.  The lights will be dimmed to relax your mood.  And of course there will be entertainment and coffee.  Soothing coffee and hot tea will be available for $.75 a cup. 

As for the fun and entertainment, anyone will be able to participate as long as their act is approved by Coach Pitts by December 9^th.  This will give students and community members a chance to share poetry, drama, and perform music.  Anyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the night.

The Coffee House’s grand opening will be on December 11^th at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m.  Mr. McGarry, Coach Pitts, and the English Department have worked hard at creating an event where students, teachers, and the community can come together and enjoy themselves.  Although the acts performed do not have to be school related, they do have to be school appropriate.

The Coffee House will be held every quarter so that performers will have time to practice and rehearse their acts before performing.  Several students have expressed interest in performing and there is hoped to be a variety of acts.

“Willow is such a small town, so this gives the students and community a chance to gather together and share their talents,” replied Coach Pitts.  So, not only can you come kick back and take it easy at the Coffee House, but you’ll get the chance to meet new people from your community and have a great time shared together.
