2010 Missouri Innovation Academy – This academy will take a new approach to business and science by merging the two fields. Students will spend three weeks learning how to develop a business model for a product they have designed, built and tested. No cost to students selected to attend. AXA Achievement Community Scholarship – Applicants must demonstrate ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community, and ability to succeed in college. Applications are available at www.axa-achievement.com. Deadline: February 15, 2010
LEAP Scholarship – Accounting majors may apply for a $500 scholarship at www.leap-forward.com. Deadline: January 31, 2010
Missouri Academy for Youth Advancement – The MAYA summer program exposes its participants to a highly accelerated high school curriculum in the math, science, engineering and technology fields. Missouri University of Science and Technology is looking for high-achieving your students entering grades 8 – 12 who would like to earn advanced high school credit during the summer (July 5-31). There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. Cost of the program is $1,650. Applications are available at http://maya.mst.edu Deadline: March 31, 2010
Missouri Sheriffs’ Association and Training Academy – The John Dennis Scholarship, for Criminal Justice majors, will be awarded by the Missouri Sheriff’s Association. Applicants must be in good standing with their school, have a good reference from their school counselor, demonstrate financial need, have a 2.0 GPA or greater, and be active in extra-curricular activities. Girls State – (June 20 – June 26) The Girls State program provides young women who have just finished their Junior year in high school the opportunity to study city, county and state government. It enforces the understanding that every person is an integral part of the political process and has a responsibility to make tomorrow a better time. Mizzou Alumni Scholarship – Applicants must have a 26 or higher on the Act or rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class. Go to www.mizzou.com/scholarship to download an application. Deadline: February 1, 2010
U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program – Thirty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in a random drawing. There are no essays and no minimum GPA is required.

United States Military Academy – The United States Military Academy will host two sessions of the 35th Annual Summer Leaders Seminar in 2010(May 20-June 4) and (June 5 – June 11). Applicants must be in the top fifth of their class, pursuing a college-preparatory curriculum, strong PSAT scores, and demonstrated leadership potential by participation, election/selection to office, and honors earned in organized athletic and extracurricular activities. University of Missouri – Columbia School of Music seeks talented and ambitious young composers to study at the MU School of Music.
