Questions on the new plans for Hoop Queen fly due to the weather that Willow Springs has experienced. Mr. Knapp, Student Council Coordinator, cleared up the confusion in just a matter of minutes. According to him, Hoop Queen will simply be moved to Friday, January 15th, where the Willow Bears will take on the Liberty Eagles.  Before the beginning of the varsity game, freshman Ashley Riden, sophomore Faith Younger, and junior Nakita Perkins will represent their graduating classes as the night’s princesses. Following their entrance, senior candidates Shelby Huffty, Jessica Girdler, and Lindsay Stolba will enter in anticipation of receiving the crown.  Flower girl Holly Wehmer and crown bearers Alder and Eian Odle will proceed the retiring queen Shelby Cooley.

As for the week of Hoop Queen, the theme is 100% Chance of Victory. Monday is  class t-shirt day, Tuesday is beach attire (school appropriate), winter clothes for Wednesday, Thursday is rain gear and Friday, of course, will be maroon and white. There will also be an attendance assembly and pep rally Friday, January 15th at 2:00.  So, welcome back to school and get ready to cheer our boys to a victory.
