Whipped Cream, Shaving Cream and Cheetos
On a high of excitement, students gathered in the bleachers for a pep rally before the big night of Hoop Queen. Yet before the festivities could begin, students were subject to an attendance assembly in which 56 students placed their name in the drawing three times, 63 students received two tickets to add to the drawing, and 65 others placed one ticket each into the attendance barrel. Then, the cheerleaders were able to kick off the much awaited pep rally with several cheers to get the crowd to their feet.
Included in the activities was the customary class competition. Two members from each graduating class were chosen and the fun began. With a head full of shaving cream, one team member stood while their partner threw Cheetos at them in order to see how many chips they could get to stick to their partner’s head. Freshmen pulled ahead and beat their opponents by a single Cheeto.
Then, came the part of the festivities that the teachers of the audience dreaded – the pie in the face. The lucky teacher with the most votes was Mr. Kuhlmeier, and he stepped to the plastic with reluctance. Little did he know that the pie was not only filled with whipped cream, but under that white filling was a nice surprise of chocolate pudding. Junior Dustin Kupitz was given the honor of rubbing the pie in his teacher’s face. Of course, he didn’t stop there; he then proceeded to rub the pie all in Mr. Kuhlmeier’s hair, making him look as if he had only eyes.
“I obviously felt pretty cool! Awed pretty much! The crowd was pumped up, and I just smeared it all over his head!” stated Kupitz.
All in all, the pep rally was a resounding success with students participating and enjoying the reprise from class. “I had fun! The pep rallies are always great!” enthused senior Nora Ennis.
