On January 4th the Willow Springs junior high basketball girls participated in the Quad City tournament. The tournament included Willow Springs, West Plains, Thayer and Cabool.  It was a crazy tournament because we did not host a game but traveled all over. The tournament started on Monday, January 4th at Cabool, against Thayer. The Lady Bears just couldn’t outscore the Lady Bobcats. The finals for both games were 7th grade 18-34 and 8th grade 8-35.

On Tuesday, the Bears traveled to Thayer and competed against West Plains. They did a little better, and the 7th grade managed a final 19-11 with a win, but the 8th grade lost by 2 points. The West Plains final was 18-20.

On Saturday, the Bears traveled to West Plains to play the Lady Bulldogs. The Bulldogs had a 6-0 lead at the quarter and a 12-6 halftime lead.

“We made some adjustment and we executed them in the 2nd half. We out scored the Lady Bulldogs 16-8 in the second half, so we managed a 2 point win!”  replied Coach Jackson.

The final score of the Cabool game was 22-20. The 8th grade game was a battle as well. The Lady Bears had a strong first half and held the Lady Bulldogs in the 2nd half. The Bears beat Cabool for the 2nd time this season with a 19-14 final!
