On Thursday, December 17th of 2009, the Willow Springs Lady Bears Basketball team would fight for a win against the Mansfield Lady Lions.

“I think we came out strong and ready,and knew that we needed a win,” commented Freshman Kyndall Bunch.

The Lady Bears did come out strong taking the lead 10-6 in the first quarter. But the lady bears wouldn’t stop there. By half-time, they had extended the lead by 10 making the score 21-11. But in the third quarter, the Lions made a run and were in 3 points of the Bears.

It was a close game, but the Lady Bears stuck to it and didn’t give up and won by a single point. The final score was 32-31. The Lady Bears were 8 for 16 from the free throw line. Four of the 8 were from Kyndall Bunch which helped making her the high scorer of the game with 8 points.

Also, the Willow Springs JV team beat the Mansfield JV team easily 49 to 23.
