Tuesday, January 19th, the Bears traveled to Strafford to take on the Strafford Indians. This would be a challenging game for the Bears taking on the 8th ranked in class 3 Indians.

The Bears came out to a close scoring game but soon found the Indians gaining momentum. Just before the half, the Indians went on a 13-4 scoring run to put them up by 14. The score at the half was Bears-19, Indians-33.

In the second half, the Bears were able to cut the lead to ten but could not do much more than that. Then the Indians took it away and left the Bears with a suffering 63-40 loss. The high scorer for the Bears was Taylor James with 13. The high scorer for the Indians was Conner Wilson with 27. The junior varsity also lost thier game making it thier second lost of the season and second lost to the Strafford Indains. This was a disappointing loss for the both Bears teams but only to a very good Strafford team.

“Strafford had a good game plan and executed it, and we didn’t play as good as we should of but we hope to play better in the future,” commented Steven Mallow.
