On April 10, 2010,  a hand full of the Middle School students attended the Howell County Spelling Bee at Fairview school in West Plains. The students who participated were Alex Hughey, Kamisha Worley, Kaitlin Samuelson, Tia Davis, Manuelita Patterson, Michaela Cox, Ryan Kogut, Andee Fredrick, Carrie Egnatowski, Dee Ciancanelli, and Jade Roberts.  Out of all the grades that attended, 6th grade entered into the top 10 from Willow Springs Middle School.
