This year many of the Middle School and Elementary stories will be written by Mrs. Holt’s Eighth Grade Independent Writing Class. This is the first story written by that class:

What is going on in Willow Springs School? Well it’s about time you find out! The eighth grade Independent Writing class interviewed Mr. Pietroburgo and asked him questions about why the student pick-up and drop-off routine has changed this year.

According to Mr. Pietroburgo, it has changed due to the construction. The new routine had to be implemented because there is not much room on the school property with the construction going on. You have probably seen the yellow lines on the concrete by the middle school. They are keeping the students a safe distance from the construction and keeping the students under supervision and visible to the teachers on duty.

It will probably change again once the building is finished although Mr. Pietroburgo could not guarantee that it would be the same as it was before.

The new building is for the elementary students and  is going to fill the gap between the kindergarten and elementary buildings. When it is done, it will have four classrooms and will be a one level building.

The construction started in June of 2010, and is predicted to be finished in about January or February, 2011. We are able to build this building because the US government provides school districts some money for these types of projects.
