The Willow Springs High School tennis team championed over the Waynesville team Tuesday, August 31, at Waynesville. “Great opening win for the team and hopefully a jumping off point for the rest of the season. Alicen Rothermich is playing without an ACL, but still contributing. We have some exciting young hitters who have the ability to make this a deep team,” Coach Marty Spence explained.
Here is the breakdown of scores:
Willow Springs 7 Waynesville 2
Singles:
1. Bethany Carter (WS) 8 Melody Elder (W) 3
2. Amber Grogan (WS) 8 Sarah Dettmer (W) 6
3. Tamara Cauldwell (WS) 8 Jonalyn Kenney (W) 4
4. Magi House (W) 8 Whitney Dampier (WS) 3
5. Annina Fremgen (WS) 8 Isabella Paolicelli (W) 3
6. Shaylee Conner (WS) 8 Maria Martley (W) 3

I didn’t see my daughter and her team mate on the score. Chanda/Summer the score was 6 to 1! I know they are JV. but, this is Chanda’s first sport she has ever played. Plus it is her very first game she played and won! Everyone on the team should be reccgnized, not just the varsity.
dont know about tennis but very nice win
WOO HOO!! WAY TO GO TENIS TEAM!!
