Two Middle School Teachers Try Something New
These articles were written by students in Ms. Holt’s class about Mr. Bell and Mrs. Hopper.
by Trey Oravec, 8th Grade
This year Mr. Bell is teaching a new class along with Math. The new class is Social Studies. He says a positive thing about teaching both classes is he gets to teach the subjects he likes the most. A negative is that he doesn’t get to teach all of the students. He will also be coaching the high school girls’ softball team. Go Bears!
This is Mr. Bell’s fifth year teaching. He taught at Koshkonong for three years and came to Willow Springs Middle School last year. Mr. Bell lives outside of West Plains in the country. He really likes it there. Mr. Bell does a lot of things for entertainment. These are just a few: hunting, fishing, farming, and just hanging out with friends and family.

Mrs. Hopper , who you might know as Ms. Young, changed her job a little this year. She now teachers 7th grade social studies with Mr. Bell. She is very excited about it. She teaches two blocks, and Mr. Bell teaches two blocks. She has many other jobs here at school. She works with Ms. Holt on Title 1 reading, and she does lunch detention duty, parent involvement, and helps with supervision. She is a busy lady.
She’s been working at Willow Springs Middle School for eleven years. She started teaching in 2000. She has lived in Mountain View, Missouri, for thirty years. Mr. Dame and Mrs. Mutrux were two of Mrs. Hopper’s favorite teachers. They both still teach here. Mrs. Mutrux was Mrs. Hopper’s cheerleading coach!
