MoDOT Teaches WSMS Seatbelt Safety
by Sadie Potts, 8th grader from Mrs. Holt’s class
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) came to Willow Springs School on Thursday, November 4, to teach the kids about seatbelt safety. They told us to “Arrive Alive”.
We met on the middle school basketball court where they demonstrated how a seatbelt can keep you inside the car during a 20 miles per hour rollover crash.
If you are not wearing your seatbelt, you can be thrown from the car. The car could then roll over you. MoDOT says that you can take your weight and multiply it by how fast you are going and that is how much force you will hit with if you are not wearing your seatbelt. So buckle up and “Arrive Alive”!

i wrote this and it was very kewl learing all this about wearing our seatbelts and not wearing our seat belt. how bad it can hurt someone if they dont wear a seat belt.
ARRIVE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!
