Willow Springs School Mourns Loss of Daniel Grogan
After an extended illness, Daniel Grogan passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010. His wife Chari, a teacher at Willow Springs, his daughters Tiffany and Amber, and his son Justin are in our thoughts and prayers. Visitation for Daniel Grogan will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Willow Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Munford Gymnasium.
A much-loved bus driver for the past 13 years, his loss is felt throughout the Willow Springs School District. ”Besides driving his route, he also volunteered on many occasions to be the auctioneer at special benefits and the FFA labor auctions. He always talked about and enjoyed the black powder shoots and camping in the outdoors,” said Dr. Hutsell, Willow Springs School superintendent.
Memorial contributions for Daniel Grogan may be made at Landmark Bank for the educational trust fund for his children. The Willow Springs tennis team will be hosting a benefit tennis tournament for the Grogan family on Sunday, November 7, at 2 p.m. at the Booster Field tennis courts. I remember Dan from HS. He was a year younger than me, and we were in the band together. We were not close friends, but I recall that he was quiet, humble, and a genuinely kind soul. Although I have not seen, or heard from him in almost 30 years, I am confident that he was a kind and caring father, and an attentive husband.
God speed.
Blessings to Chari, Tiffany, Amber and Justin. You are in my prayers.
Love, Anne Kyle
