Willow Springs Lady Bears Defeat Mansfield 59-51

On Thursday, November 16, the Willow Springs Lady Bears traveled to Mansfield to take on the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions came out on fire and hitting three’s in the first half. By halftime the score was 32-27. The Lady Bears did a nice job adjusting their defense after halftime, holding Mansfield to a seven point third quarter. They entered the final quarter with a one point lead. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears outscored the Lady Lions 19-12, shooting 7-8 from the free throw line to secure the 59-51 win. ”I feel like the reason we were able to get the victory tonight is because of the way we responded to their runs. The composure of our team showed down the stretch, and understanding time and score were important to the outcome of the game,” said Coach Gutscher.
Top scorer of the night was Kyndall Bunch with 23 points. Kyra Bunch had 13. Kamryn Hutsell finished with 11. Stephanie Williams had 6 points. Allisha Shanks had 4 points. Kayla Roberts had 2 points.
The Lady Bears improved their record to 5-2. Their next game will be Monday, December 20 vs. the Houston Lady Tigers in their first conference game of the season.
