Cottey College – “C” For Yourself! Weekend – April 15-17 – Students will spend two nights in a campus suite, meet faculty, staff, and students.  Registration for the weekend is $30.  Register at:  http://www.cottey.edu/home/prostudents/cforyourself.html.

 

Cottey College will host a week-long residential camp for high school girls interested in dance, music (vocal and instrumental), science, or leadership.  Students in grades 9 – 12 may participate.  More information is available at www.cottey.edu. (programs for youth and adults, summer programs)  There is a $20.00 non-refundable application fee.  Limited financial aid is available.  The registration should be completed by April 1, 2011.   Cost of the programs is $400 each.  Deadline:  April 15, 2011

Educational Community Credit Union Scholarship – 2 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Educational Community Credit Union members.  Deadline:  February 28, 2011

 

Girls State – (June 19 – June 25) The Girls State program provides young women who have just finished their Junior year in high school the opportunity to study city, county and state government.  It enforces the understanding that every person is an integral part of the political process and has a responsibility to make tomorrow a better time.  Applications are available at:  www.missourigirlsstate.org.  Deadline:  March 15, 2011

 

MFA Foundation Scholarship  – This scholarship is sponsored by the Willow Springs MFA Agri-Services.  Application criteria include:  the applicant’s interest in furthering his/her education by engaging in studies relating to agriculture or other fields of study that benefit rural life; participation and leadership in school, church, and community activities; reputation for good citizenship and good moral character; financial need, sources of income and willingness to work; and satisfactory academic progress.  Deadline:  March 15, 2011

Mildred Ann Groves Childress Scholarship – Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, a 23 or higher composite ACT score, and must be in the top 50% of their class.  Preference is given to FFA members.  Deadline:  February 25, 2011

Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship – Applicants must be high school seniors who have exhibited academic achievement and/or economic need.  Students should be enrolling full time in a major relating to banking.  The application form must be signed by an officer of a Missouri Bankers Association member bank.  See Mrs. Petrus for an application  Deadline:  March 18, 2011

Physical Therapy Specialists Clinic Memorial Scholarships – Nine scholarships are available this year. They are $1,000 each.  Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and an ACT of 23 or better.  Scholarship applicants will be judged on the following criteria:  65% personal and leadership qualities and 35% academic accomplishment.

Applications must be typed, and Mrs. Petrus must verify your testing scores. Deadline:  February 25, 2011 – due in their office by 5:00 p.m.

 

SAMMY  2010 Award – Students will be judged on academic performance (5%), athletic excellence (35%), leadership (15%), community service (10%), and milk experience (5%).  Apply online at bodybymilk.com.  Deadline:  March 4, 2011
