On Monday, January 17 the Willow Lady Bears played their first game of the Mountain Grove Family Pharmacy Tournament against the Houston Lady Tigers. By the end of the first quarter the Lady Bears led Houston 13-5.  Houston came closest to tying the score during the second half at 20 but Kamryn Hutsell took the ball coast to coast and scored with 2 seconds left, making the final score at the halftime 22-20. During the third quarter, the Lady Bears extended their lead 43-30 and the run didn’t stop there. They ended with a final score of 51-36. The Lady Bears had a quick start and did a great job executing during the third quarter.

Kyra Bunch took the front seat, being the lead scorer during this game with 14 points. Alexis Privette contributed 8 points. Kyndall Bunch, Kamryn Hutsell and Stephanie Williams all had 7 points each. Allisha Shanks put in 5 points. Alissa Chapman had 2 points. Kayla Roberts had 1 point.

The next action for the Lady Bears will be on Thursday, January 20 in the second round of the Mountain Grove Tournament against the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers. The JV game starts at 7 p.m., and the varsity game will follow.
