On Thursday, January 6, the Licking Lady Wildcats traveled to Willow Springs to take on the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears jumped out to a 12-8 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Bears stretched the lead to 9 points on a buzzer beater, with Kayla Roberts putting Willow in a good postion going into halftime.  The Lady Bears extended the lead to 14 before the Lady Wildcats cut the lead down to four.

The Lady Bears took care of the basketball down the stretch and made it to the free throw line to extend the lead and win 55-46. “I thought our kids did a nice job of holding their composure down the stretch and hit very crucial free throws to secure the win,” said Coach Gutscher after the game.

Kyndall Bunch once again was the leading scorer with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Kamryn Hutsell contributed 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals. Kyra Bunch had 7 points, 1 assist, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Allisha Shanks had 5 points, 1 assist, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Alexis Privette had 2 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound. Kayla Roberts had 2 points, 2 assists and 1 rebound.  Alissa Chapman had 1 rebound and 1 steal.

The Lady Bears’ next game will be Monday, January 10, against the Eagles at Liberty.
