The Willow Springs Math team placed third at the Great Plains Math League competition in Springfield at MSU on Saturday. Events at the competition were the sprint round, target round, relay round, and team round.

Freshman Hannah Venn placed 8th and senior Young Lee placed 6th on the individual event of Sprint Round.

At the Target Round sophomore Mykayla Pringle placed 11th and Karley Barry placed 12th. Junior Bethany Carter placed 11th and  senior Brandon Coursen placed 14th and Young Lee placed  second, qualifying him for state.

During the Relay Round the team of Karley Barry, Casey Hall, and Young Lee placed first.

In the Team Round, the team of Karley Barry, Casey Hall, and Young Lee placed 4th and the team of  Bethany Carter, Brandon Coursen, and Meredith Pilcher  placed 5th.  Both teams qualified for state.

Young Lee  also won second place overall for being top performer in the senior category.
