Lady Bears Defeat Salem in Pink-out Game 47-44
by Megan Caldwell
On Friday, February 11 the Willow Springs Lady Bears took on Salem. This was also the Pink-Out game. There was a great turn out at the game, and Alissa Chapman raised $1,000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks.
The ladies started off with a slow first quarter, both teams only scoring 5 points but with strong defense. The Lady Bears stepped it up and came out on top with a score of 47 to 44. “Our girls did a really good job rebounding. They limited their shot attempts, and we were able to turn that into transition points,” said Coach Gutscher.
Kyndall Bunch was lead scorer with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Kyra Bunch had 8 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds. Kamryn Hutsell finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Allisha Shanks had 3 points, 1 assist and 2 rebounds. Alissa Chapman had 3 points and 1 rebound. Kayla Roberts had 2 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals. Alexis Privette finished with 2 points and 2 assists.
The Lady Bears are now 15-6 on the season and 3-2 in the SCA conference. Their next games will be Monday, February 14 at Mountain Grove and Thursday, February 17 at Cabool.
