“This was our goal from day one– to be the team district champion. I’m so proud of, not only how well these guys played, but how well they carry themselves and represent Willow Springs High School. We had a lot of nerves coming in and played a little tight, but found our groove and beat one of the best teams in the area. Salem has a very athletic, skilled varsity and we knew we had to be on top of our game. Young Lee and Clint Harper had huge singles wins for us. Levi Thornton and Josh Redburn took care of business in both singles and doubles. It was a team effort, and this outstanding group of young men were able to accomplish something special,” commented Coach Marty Spence along with Coach Terrie Rhoades
This Saturday, the tennis players will compete in the Individual District Tournament at Willow Springs and next week they play Team Sectionals.
