The seventh grade volleyball team won against West Plains last night while the eighth grade team struggled.

The Willow Springs 7th grade team won back-to-back games.  “A different player steps up every night to help us get a victory. In game one, we had only one earned point and 9 unearned serves. It was kind of sad to watch, especially after doing so well the previous night,” said Coach Valarie Jackson.  Kirstein Loman had 2 kills and an assist and Vanessa Gould had 2 kills.

In game two, the Lady Bears rallied with 13 service points and 6 aces from Grace Bailey.  Alana Biehl added 3 assists, and Kelsey Walton finished with 2 points and 2 kills. After struggling in game one, Michaela Cox bounced back with 10 points and 5 aces. Michaela also finished with 3 kills. Maribel Garcia-Espana added 8 service points to help secure the win. The final scores were Willow Springs 11, 25, 25; West Plains 25, 22, 12.

In the 8th grade match, scores were Willow Springs 22, 13; West Plains 25, 25. Kaitlyn Baker and Shilo Letterman led the Lady Bears with two kills. Several players scored 2 and 3 service points. Dayla Davis and Abbie Kargel each had 2 assists.

Next contest will be at Cabool on Monday, September 26th.
