“We had an awesome win against a very good team from Forsyth. This was the tennis equivalent of a three at the buzzer or a walk-off homer!” Mr. Spence said, obviously thrilled by his team’s earnest effort. “Forsyth has always been a tough opponent, but in the end our girls played hard enough to take home that win.  Shaylee Conner played an amazing singles match to give us a chance in doubles. Both Bethany Carter and Annina Fremgen came back from big deficits.
In doubles, Beth and Annina scored a big win to set us up at 4-4 in the team score with one match left. Shaylee Conner and Emily Wehmer got down 7-6, before rallying to go up 8-7. Forsyth was able to force a tie breaker, and in the 7-point tiebreaker Shaylee and Emily pulled it out 7-5.  I was very proud of the way the girls fought all afternoon and into the night,” Coach Spence said.
