Bethany Carter took second in the Class 1 District 10 Tournament on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Rogersville. She will play in the Sectional round of the State Tennis Tournament on Tuesday at 4:00 in Bolivar.

“Tremendous day for senior, Bethany Carter.  She battled all day and earned a trip to the state tournament.  In the semifinals, she was able to make adjustments after losing the first set badly to win the next two sets.  In the championship, she lost a heartbreaking tiebreaker in the first set, came back to win a close second set, and came up a little short in the third set.

She has worked incredibly hard for four years to get out of districts and she was able to accomplish her goal in an extremely hard district.  Her teammates mobbed her after the championship match and she earned the respect of everyone watching on Friday,” Coach Spence said.
