Forsyth Wins the Tennis District Team Semifinals
District Semifinals for Willow Springs Tennis did not go as well as hoped when they played against Forsyth here on October 4. The final score was Forsyth 5, Willow Springs 3.
“This was a tough match against an opponent that we match up with very well. We had seen them twice already this year and won both matches 5-4 and it’s tough to beat a good team three times. Unfortunately, this was for a chance to go to a district championship match, but I was extremely proud of how hard the girls fought for every point. There were a lot of long three set matches, and we just didn’t catch the breaks we needed. The team finished the year 9-5, took first in the Forsyth Tournament and third in the Waynesville Tournament. We’ll look to regroup and get ready for the individual district tournament on Friday,” Coach Spence said.
