Willow Springs Middle School  played volleyball at Mountain Grove on October 3, 2011, ending with seventh grade defeats and eighth grade victories overall.

The 7th grade team struggled with serving and passing. Mountain Grove won both the B game at 11-25 and the regular match at 9-25 and 8-25.

The 8th grade Lady Bears had a great team effort against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Bears started the night with a 23-13 win in the B game. Sarah Ford led with 6 service points, Rachel Corniels earned her first hit/kill of the year, and Abbie Kargel assisted her with the set.

In the regular match, Willow Springs won fairly easily, 25-17. In the second game, the Lady Bears started the game with 6 straight errors. “We dug ourselves a hole, I was impressed that we battled back to keep it a two game match,” said Coach Valerie Jackson.

Their birthday girl, Shilo Letterman, played a good game, leading the team with seven service points, five kills, and four assists. Kendra Aldridge had three service points, six kills, two assists, and two aces. Rebecca Picard had seven assists. Kassidy Alexander had six service points. Dayla Davis had three service points and two kills. Kaitlyn Baker and Alley Tooley each had two kills.

This was an overall team win 26-24 win over the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers.

Next game will be on Thursday night at Munford Gymnasium against Licking.
