Air Force ROTC Scholarship – Seniors who are interested in the Air Force ROTC program and scholarship opportunities may apply online at www.afrotc.com.

American Legion Scholarships – Six separate scholarships may be found at the American Legion website www.missourilegion.org.  Basic criteria includes:  be a resident of Missouri, must be under the age of 21, be unmarried, must be a descendant of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U.S. Armed Forces who received an Honorable Discharge.  Some scholarships apply to attendees of Boys and Girls State.

Coca-Cola Scholarship – The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation gives approximately 450 scholarships annually ranging from $10,000 to $20,000.  Students must apply online at www.coca-colascholars.orgDeadline:  October 31, 2011

Community Foundation of the Ozarks Scholarships available to Willow Springs High School Students:  1.  Mildred Ann (Groves) Childress Memorial Scholarship – must be a graduate/candidate for graduation from Willow Springs High School, must be in the upper one-half of the graduating class, and must be enrolled as a full-time student.  Preference is given to AG students who are members of FFA and those who demonstrate financial need. ($2,000) 2.  MSHP Sergeant C Dewayne Graham Jr. Memorial Scholarship – must be a graduating senior, must be pursuing a career in criminal justice or law enforcement, and must be of high moral character and positive role model.  Preference is given to graduates of Carter & Reynolds Counties.  ($250)  3.  Greater Ozarks Chapter of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses, #144 Nursing Scholarship -  Applicants must be pursuing a degree in nursing, must demonstrate financial need, must be a high school graduate, and must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.  Preference is given to an orthopedic nurse who is a member of NAON or dependents of members.  ($1,000) 4. Henry J. and Lucille J. Straus Scholarship – Applicants must be a full-time, un-married, undergraduate student with good scholastic record, qualities of potential leadership, sincerity and integrity, and extracurricular activities.  Preference will be given to financial need.  ($1,000)  5.  Henry Joseph Struck Memorial Scholarship – Applicants must demonstrate financial need, must have a personal reference, and must meet college admission standards.  Preference will be given to applicants whose parent(s) are deceased/disabled as a result of military service.  ($5,000)  New amounts and deadlines will be announced in February 2012.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation – This scholarship helps rural students to achieve their full potential.  Applicants must have a 3.25 or higher GPA, and must have scored 23 or higher on the ACT.  Go to www.hsfmo.org to apply.  Deadline:  November 15, 2011 (note a FAFSA filed with 2009 information must be completed to send with the scholarship application)

HOBY Leadership Seminar – All sophomores are eligible to apply.  Only one student can be nominated from each school.  The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is a dynamic, interactive educational program designed to prepare our country’s youth to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.  Fee – $150 Deadline:  December 2, 2011

John F. University of Central Missouri – Discover UCM Days are October 11th, October 29th,  November 12th, February 18th, March 11th, and April 8th.  Students will have the opportunity to tour campus, learn about admissions, financial aid, and housing, meeting with faculty members  and hear from current students.  Register at 1-877- 729- 8266.

University of Missouri – Rolla Chancellor’s Scholarship – To be eligible for the Chancellor’s Scholarship student’s must rank in the upper 10% of their class at the end of six semesters, must have at least a 30 on the ACT, must demonstrate strong leadership skills through school and community activities, and must be a resident of Missouri.  Deadline: (must be received by November 1, 2011)
