High School

Willow Springs High School competed in the Interscholastic contest at MSU West Plains campus on Thursday, March 5, 2010.  Willow was the Division II School winner.  Individual contest winners were as follows.

A new, painted Bear mural was recently added to the sophomore hallway.  Freshman Doug Hodges drew the Bear picture in his Art I class.  Mr. McGarry liked the drawing so much that he decided to put Doug’s talent to good use.

Mrs. Anne Kyle, the Willow Springs Health Coordinator, recently participated in the EPA’s Indoor Air Quality ‘Tools for Schools” symposium conference.

From the numerous graduating classes throughout the past 50 years to the different style changes; the world we live in now is drastically different. Not only in the way we look, dress and talk, but also in school discipline.

With the crazy new trend of Facebook, people throughout the nation are using it to keep in touch with friends and family. Similar to MySpace, Facebook gives anyone the opportunity to create a page for free, all in a couple of minutes free process.

Scheduling is always a stressful time for everyone involved.  It may be helpful if you have an idea of what classes you want to take when it is time to begin your schedule for next year.  The 2011 seniors will begin scheduling on March 8, the juniors on March 9, the sophomores on March 15, and the freshman on March 16. 

With the earthquake devastating Haiti, members of Willow Springs and surrounding communities have stepped to the plate in order to provide for the needs of this misfortunate people.  Yet, one story in particular grasped the hearts of those who heard and inspired local community members.

Willow Springs has missed a lot of school lately. Winter weather seems to have targeted the southern Midwest and has made itself comfortable for the long haul. All of this snow may be a surprise to us, but you can bet that it comes as no surprise to one Pennsylvania resident; you know him as Phil.

It’s looking like that time of year again. Christmas has ended, summer vacation is a long way off, and the juniors have locked themselves in Mrs. Brower’s room for that past few lunch periods. Its Prom season. It’s the most secretive of times when seniors usually need spy equipment just to discover any information about the event.  But finally Mrs. Brower has shared all there is to know about the 2010 Prom.
