Summer School Held in the Balance

Willow Springs may be seeing some changes in this year’s summer school.  Education is now starting to see some massive budget cuts.  With this tough reality, comes fewer dollars to spend on important educational programs.

Willow’s Got Talent

As another quarter has begun, the Willow Springs High School held their annual quarterly attendance assembly on Monday, March 29, 2010.  This gave students, who have missed two days or less during 3rd quarter, a chance to put their names in for the grand drawing.

FCCLA STAR Events

Several Willow FCCLA students participated in a competitive event called Students Taking Action with Recognition, or STAR events.  All the individual teams created a community service project, created it, and presented it to judges with a speech and a visual presentation.

Moving on Up

Nerves were tight as the choir and band students left the high school for district competition. The bus was filled with excitement as well as last minute practice as vocalists and musicians worked to perfect each note.

2010 SCA Math & Science Relays

The 2010 SCA Math and Science Relays were recently held at Willow Springs High School.  The tests lasted 20 minutes each; the relays began at 4:45 and ended at 6:35.

For a Lifetime

With the stress of senior projects on the rise, another project has been added to the already endless senior ‘to do’ list. The introduction of the Valedictory project increased stress and caused panic to set in as seniors began to feel as if everything was piling up.

The Amazing Mail Race

Recently, the senior class at Willow Springs received a letter from a student at Susan Moore High School, Mississippi. Senior Tracy Jackson wrote informing them of a contest that she was participating in with her class. Each student picked a school at random and wrote  to them and asked for a response. The student that receives the most letters back, wins a prize.
